In my previous post, Help EHSCSI: How Do I Keep Employees Engaged in EHS?<\/a> \u00a0I talked about having fun with an environmental, health and safety program–specifically including engaging elements into training. \u00a0Following I have included a few resources that can help liven up trainings and keep employees engaged while also sending the right message.<\/p>\n

1. \u00a0Free safety videos at www.napofilm.net<\/a>. \u00a0Videos provide a great interlude to a verbose training session. I have included one of the films below that speaks to Hearing Conservation.

2. \u00a0Great cartoons available at\u00a0www.seppo.net\/cartoons<\/a>. \u00a0Incorporating some cartoons into a lengthy training can also be advantageous for engagement.<\/p>\n

3. \u00a0Using true examples of unsafe behaviors or incorrect practices \u00a0is helpful to engage employees in\u00a0discussion. \u00a0There are always interesting behaviors occurring throughout facilities that make for great training. \u00a0 In this picture some contractors were using aluminum ladders while working on a live circuit box in addition to not wearing any arc flash personal protective equipment. \u00a0During an electrical safety training I ask employees some thought-provoking questions: \u00a01) What should be replaced in this situation? \u00a02) What practices are incorrect or life threatening? \u00a03) What are the consequences of the behaviors seen in this picture? \u00a04) How can these behaviors be improved?<\/p>\n
